501(c)(3) dog rescue, Temple, Texas
We take the dogs other rescues turn away
Severe skin and coat cases. Seniors. Dogs who have been waiting in a shelter for months. They come here, they get treated, and they get a home.
What we do
A rescue built around the hardest cases
Pearl's Place was founded in February 2021 in a set of empty boarding kennels. The focus has not changed since.
01
Skin and coat specialists
Severe skin conditions take months of daily care. We use Iv San Bernard products from Italy and hydro-massage ozone baths, with veterinary guidance from Dr. Faver and Suzanne Marchetti. A qualified pet aesthetician is on the team.
02
The dogs nobody else takes
Seniors, special needs dogs, long term shelter residents, and strays. If a dog is hard to place, that is usually the reason it ends up here.
03
Every dog leaves covered
Vaccinations, microchipping, spay or neuter, and temperature controlled housing while they are with us. No exceptions and no shortcuts.
Our namesake
One day before she ran out of time
Pearl was a 12 year old yellow lab at the Harker Heights shelter, scheduled to be euthanized the next day. Our founder brought her home.
Pearl lived four more years. She is the reason this place exists, and her name is on the door.

A note about our location
Pearl's Place has to move
The city is taking our property for a water tower, so the rescue has to relocate. The dogs are safe, intakes continue, and our phone and email are unchanged.
This moves the plan for a permanent boarding and rehabilitation center from someday to now. A new site means fenced run space, a dedicated senior area, and a proper treatment room built for skin and coat cases instead of adapted around them.
We are working through the move now. If you have given before, this is the moment it matters most.
Adoptable
Our dogs looking for homes are listed on Petfinder
Every dog currently available from Pearl's Place is on our Petfinder page, with photos and full details. Have one in mind already? Send us an inquiry and we will follow up.

Treatment
Skin work is slow, daily, hands on work
Our founder groomed dogs professionally for more than 25 years before this was a rescue. That is the advantage. Medicated baths, ozone therapy, and product matched to the specific condition, repeated for as long as the dog needs it.

In their words
What supporters say
The volunteers are wonderful. We just went for a nail trim, both our boys liked everyone, nails look great, then I find out they rescue animals. We will be going back for anything our boys need.
Great down home folks who care for our animals and go the extra mile to make sure they are happy and healthier. Thank you for caring for my dogs like a part of the family.
They do not discriminate: the young, the ones with puppies, and what I love best, the old. They rehab with dedication and belief, and they let sick and old dogs live their best lives for as long as they can.
Support the work
Every dog here got a second chance because someone said yes
Adopt one. Fund a medicated bath. Give monthly. It all keeps the kennels open.
