Come out for a day of fun and support a great cause!

At Pearl’s Place, we are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization dedicated to rescuing dogs with skin issues and those facing euthanasia due to overcrowding in local shelters. Our mission is to provide love, care, and a second chance for every dog in need.

Our Commitment

We go above and beyond to support all animals that need assistance, even if they are not directly under our care. Every dog at Pearl’s Place receives comprehensive medical attention, including vaccinations, microchipping, and spaying/neutering. They are housed in comfortable, temperature-controlled environments where they are nurtured with everything they need to thrive.

about us

From as far back as I can remember, my heart has always belonged to animals. Those who know me well can vouch for my lifelong passion, especially for horses—a love so deep it bordered on obsession. Growing up on a farm, I witnessed the miracle of birth and the sorrow of loss, which shaped my understanding and compassion. About 25 years ago, I turned my love for animals into a career as a dog groomer, seamlessly blending my life with horses, cattle, and dogs, each enriching my journey.

Pearl’s Place is named in honor of Pearl, a 12-year-old yellow lab I rescued from the Harker Heights, TX animal shelter just a day before she was scheduled to be euthanized. Pearl became a beloved part of our family, delighting in time spent at the grooming shop until her peaceful passing four years later. During the COVID-19 pandemic, with the grooming business temporarily closed, I decided to transform our empty boarding kennels into Pearl’s Place, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit as of February 2021. We focus on providing a sanctuary for senior and special needs dogs, offering them a place to recover, heal, and decompress.

what we do

Our Goal For Our Animals

  • A New Home

At Pearl’s Place, our mission is to ensure every dog finds a loving, forever home. We carefully match each dog with a family that suits their personality and needs. By understanding both the dog's and the adopter's expectations, we strive to create harmonious partnerships that last a lifetime. Our support doesn’t end with adoption; we provide guidance and resources to help new pet parents create a nurturing environment where their new family member can thrive and feel truly at home.

  • Medical Rescue

Medical rescue is at the heart of what we do at Pearl’s Place. We prioritize dogs with urgent health issues, providing them with immediate and comprehensive medical care. Our dedicated team of veterinarians and volunteers work tirelessly to nurse these animals back to health, addressing everything from minor ailments to complex medical conditions. By offering a safe haven where they can recover, we give these dogs a second chance at life, transforming their stories of despair into ones of hope and healing.

  • Vaccinated

Ensuring the health and safety of our dogs is a top priority at Pearl’s Place. All dogs in our care are fully vaccinated, protecting them against common diseases and safeguarding their well-being. This commitment to vaccination helps us maintain a healthy environment for both the animals and the families who adopt them. By staying up-to-date on vaccinations, we provide peace of mind to adopters, knowing that their new companion is starting their new life with the best possible protection.

  • Spay/ Nueter

Spaying and neutering are essential components of our mission to reduce pet overpopulation and ensure healthier, happier lives for our dogs. At Pearl’s Place, every dog is spayed or neutered before adoption. This not only prevents unwanted litters but also contributes to their long-term health by reducing the risk of certain diseases. By promoting responsible pet ownership through spaying and neutering, we help create a better future for the dogs in our care and the community at large.
